CJohn
I think these films hit 100 M because of weak competition.Gnomeo & Juliet/Journey 2 scenario here.
Jack Nevada
I barely remember the first one, but I guess it was alright. The animation was good.

Jonwo
Clearly the success of HT have prompted Sony to bring Cloudy forward a few months. I imagine most of their future family and animated films with a few exceptions like The Smurfs will be released in September/October time. cheesypoofs
4 year gap seems like a long time for a movie like this.
CJohn
Animation sequels usually take a long time to be released. 50M OW may happen. The first is a great animation movie. Better than Despicable Me
cheesypoofs
Animation sequels usually take a long time to be released. 50M OW may happen. The first is a great animation movie. Better than Despicable Me I would've understood a 2-3 year gap, but 4 just seems way too long. This movie wasn't that big. If the first was a 200M+ grosser, then a 4 year gap would make sense, but a 4 year gap for a sequel to a film that made a little under 125M just seems too long IMO. Jonwo
Cloudy was well received although it did wrap up nicely so it'll be a interesting how the sequel does, I'm expecting $35-40m for its OW at least, it might beat HT's OW but I wonder if The Little Mermaid 3D and the Star Wars Episode II and III 3D will eat into its audience.
