The fact that China represents half of TF4's international take alone is just

A number of reasons.  The studio has faith in it, it has the potential to appeal to both men and women, it was given a summer release, and rough screenings have gone well.  All this doesn't mean that it absolutely will break out but if it finds an audience and the final round of marketing connects, it could pull a "Salt."

 

 

More appropriately, it could pull a "Limitless."

 

But, yes it's a Besson joint, so I'm not holding my breath.

With actuals, TF should drop below 100m, but there is always Puerto Rico.

So what's the gap MJ1 could win the year by domestically? 150 million?

I had my hopes.

Hoping is all good and nice, but it wasn't a very realistic goal. Sure, domestic will drop, but even a significant drop, to 250 (which I still don't see, tbh), should be counteracted by the huge Asian markets results. Of course, the major European markets may deliver bad numbers, but I seriously doubt they'll be bad enough to keep it from the billion.

Well, I'm going with 410 for MJ1 and 320 for TH3.
