If you want to keep on being ignorant, be my guest.

Well when Disney sends out its report to its stockholders all of those films are included in the report

I like the fact that some people are replying on my behalf and thankfully they are saying what I would myself.

;)

Okay now what movie do you like, Please. By the way I was only stating the truth of what you said, I still love Captain America, so

I think these superhero films are crap, they could easily be cartoons/animations. I used to be a fan when I was a kid but then I grew up :D

I liked EOT this summer.

Gladiator is one of my all time faves. Unfortunately one doesn't see such great films being made these days. And it's also disappointing to see big budgets being allotted to ridiculous films.

Well, there's Jolie's Cleo which probably got most chance being made out of all the various sword&sandal blockbusters projects. They really fallen out of popularity for a good decade :(

Cap 2 is a Marvel movie. I don't know if this has become an unpopular opinion around here, but Disney pretty much have no say in what Marvel makes. I don't see them telling Marvel to Disneyfy their releases with stupid sidekicks and G-rated language and etc.

Similarly, Lucasfilm is separate from Disney and so is Pixar with the exception of Cars 2, and even then, Pixar executed a terrible idea terribly.

Disney films are really only WDAS and their live action carbon copies. Should have been called Maleficent the Great and Powerful in Wonderland.

Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar are wholly owned subsidiaries of Disney. Disney has complete say in what they do. (And in the case of Pixar, they have the same head creative folks as WDAS.)

Just to expand on my point, Dreamworks movies are not Disney movies.

So, Lincoln? Not a Disney movie. People Like Us? Not a Disney movie. Need for Speed? Not a Disney movie. Old Dogs? Disney movie. Beverly Hills Chihuahua? Disney movie. Odd Life of Timothy Green? Disney movie.

I'm surprised so few people know that there's a difference.

Here's Wikipedia. They're mostly right on which movies are produced by Disney.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walt_Disney_Pictures_films#2010s

Well, it is different. Disney is just the distributor there. But there was never a question about Disney owning Dreamworks. Since they are the distributor, they do have control over release dates and probably some advertising.

I think I'm going to try and watch it. I may rant about it afterwards. Do you feel the same about Honest Trailers?

Ironically I like Honest Trailers better

Well when Disney sends out its report to its stockholders all of those films are included in the report

Maybe I am not making myself clear enough.

Would Disney actually make a superhero movie? No. They bought Marvel, and Marvel makes them.

Marvel, just like Lucasfilm and Pixar, exist outside of Disney and before Disney bought them.

They all have their own culture, that has so far remained mostly intact.

Disney are different from all the other studios. There isn't anything that unites Blended to Godzilla to Edge of Tomorrow that makes them "Warner Bros movies" but there is a clear influence that unites Alice, Oz, Maleficent, Tron Legacy, Prince of Persia, Sorcerer's Apprentice, John Carter etc just like there's also a clear influence that unites movies like Odd Life of Timothy Green, Underdog, Shaggy Dog, Alexander and the Horrible Day etc.

If you noticed, there are very specific types of movies that all Disney films can be grouped under. They don't do anything out of the ordinary or beyond these banners. They won't be making a Superbad, they won't be making Think Like A Man, they won't be making Transformers or Gone Girl or 12 Years a Slave. If they hadn't bought Marvel and Lucasfilm, they wouldn't be making those types of movies either and the purchase only acts as branding Disney on the films without actually having any Disney influence. It's not like the people in charge of Tron Legacy and Wild Hogs got to raid the Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar offices. All of those studios maintain their own autonomy within their new hierarchy. They weren't forced to relocate or dissolve into Disney or were removed so Disney executives could take their places.

In other words, Disney fans were fans before the inclusion of any of these other studios and that's what they were fans for, not what they have bought because those films retain the branding and influence of their own studios. I am not talking about box office. 99% of the population don't care about it like us.
