I actually had a lot of fun with my guide in Madeira (she was fucking amazing, in all sense of the word, btw - probably the one woman who made me question my homosexuality), with the language thing. Look, this is Romanian: cu carne de vaca nu se moare de foame. That's very similar to the Portuguese saying, even in pronunciation.

Yeah, some things are similar. But cu means ass in Portuguese
