Dragon was predicted to be the biggest movie of the summer by many people, so its boxoffice run is a massive disappointment especially with zero animated competition (No, Planes doesn't count).

Poor Frozen, you were so confident it was gonna thwart DH2 worldwide and overseas, and attacked anyone who said otherwise. Even before the DVD release, it fizzled and didn't come close to beating DH2.What a massive disappointment.

It could be a mini Avengers. I hope so. This summer needs a pick me up from all the underperforming. We have Avengers stirring things up on Earth and GOTG partying it up in space. Two settings, two teams, different dynamics, one universe. We are in for something big, and to quote the Avengers cast, something "epic"Its getting even more exciting.

Fuzzy licensing contracts.  SW and QS were first introduced as Avengers and even though they're mutants most of their stories are with The Avengers.  But being mutants Fox has rights to them.  There's also a Madame Hydra/Viper sharing.

Really? I like to know who thought this movie was going to break out? The demographic for it is very small! It's got no racial diversity, and the trailers didn't have any strong female characters in it. It's BO potential was always going to be limited. This is a new era, if you don't have diversity and strong female roles in the movies, it's going to struggle..(IMO anyways)

Wonder if Marvel actively try to get its stuff back from Fox or have already given up.

 

They asked use of for The Silver Surfer and were willing to give Fox more time with FF and Daredevil.  But Fox said no and then Daredevil lapsed and went back to Marvel and Fox stretched out the 7 years to do FF to it's limit.  Marvel and Sony have a better working relationship than Marvel and Fox after Fox sued Marvel for their TV series Mutant X when there was a dispute over if they all TV rights or just animated TV rights claiming Marvel was hurting Fox's brand. Now Marvel doesn't even do Animated X-Men and doesn't sell toys to help promote the movies because ef'em.
