terrestrial
@Walt Disney Repost out of the international thread: Forbes, article includes also the studios press release: DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon 2 has officially crossed $500 million worldwide. To wit, the film debuted in China with a strong $5.6m opening day, which was enough to push the critically-acclaimed animated sequel over the half-billion dollar mark in global grosses. As of today, the film has earned $170.6m domestic and $331.2m overseas since debuting in mid-June of this summer. Also of note, it has thus surpassed 20th Century Fox's Rio 2 ($496m) and Warner Bros.’ (Time Warner , Inc.) The LEGO Movie ($468m) worldwide to become the biggest-grossing animated film of 2014.One hand, both films were noticeably cheaper than the $145m-budgeted sequel, with Rio 2 costing $103m and The LEGO Movie costing $60m to produce. One the other hand, the film’s opening day in China is basically equal to the opening weekend of The Croods, which earned $6.3m on its debut weekend back in March 2013 and went on to earn $63m in China. We’ll have a better idea of where the film may end up in terms of overall Chinese box office totals by the end of the weekend. http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2014/08/15/box-office-how-to-train-your-dragon-2-crosses-500m-worldwide-following-china-debut/ Edited August 15, 2014 by terrestrial

MovieMan89
GOTG is so beating TMNT this weekend. Will say 26m for GOTG, 23m for TMNT.
druv10
GOTG is so beating TMNT this weekend. Will say 26m for GOTG, 23m for TMNT. That would be 65% drop for TMNT and only 38% for GOTG. GOTG is possible but I don't see a way TMNT drops that much.
