"Penguins Of Madagascar crossed the $200M international box office threshold this weekend with a total now of $207.9M. The frame was worth $9M on 5,527 screens in 29 markets. Korea, where CJ is releasing, was tops with $2.3M from 550 for an $8.56M cume. The biggest market still in release is Mexico with $18.3M. The Penguins waddle into Brazil next weekend."

This may be a game to you but you and your kindred spirits "friends" need to know/understand that lots of people are dependent on that job to feed their families so thanks for the well wishes "DIM-WIT"...

Let's count an estimate:

50% of dom theater: $41.5m

35% of OS theater: $93.1m

65% of DVD/Blu: assuming $35m (dom+os), that's $22.7m

On-demand is probably 15% of DVD= $3.4m

Total: $160.7m

On the flip side:

Production budget: $132m

Marketing: $40-50m

That's probably about $10m in the red.

They would be hoping for better dvd/blu-ray results, but Mr Peabody and Sherman's DVD/Bluray sales were only $30m.

Dreamworks merchandise is also pretty weak, so their income stream is pretty restricted to the movie revenues.

Fox and DreamWorks Animation’s Penguins Of Madagascar is still zooming around the globe, adding $5.18M this frame in 12 markets for a cume of $276.7M. Also getting a bump from the Chinese New Year holiday, the gang debuted as the No. 1 MPA title in Hong Kong with $1.4M on 85 — 240% bigger than Frozen and 138% higher than How To Train Your Dragon 2. In Thailand, the super troupe bowed at No. 1 with 20% of the market and $490K on 200. Holds were all strong inVenezuela ($6.1M cume), Poland ($7.6M cume), Taiwan ($1.1M cume) andArgentina ($4.7M cume).
