Huge numbers as expected. With China it can reach 900m OS.

If it doesn't get a China release, I'd say a 650 OS is perhaps a lock..

Plus 340-350 DOM or more = 980 m-1.05 billion WW

3rd UPDATE, 11:16 AM:

Universal/Illumination Entertainment’s Minions has just crossed $400M worldwide as it opened in 30 new markets this weekend and was No. 1 in every one of them. It made $6.4M more than Universal estimated yesterday — and with that comes their $400M+ mark. Boy, that’s quite a jump, dontcha think? Especially high, given the estimates on their other films were pretty much on the money (see below). The worldwide total now for Minions stands at $403.5M with $287.7M coming from international markets. Final grosses are in for all Warner Bros. and Disney titles. Still awaiting other grosses from Sony and Paramount, but updating with this huge jump on the Minions grosses.

I think it will cross billion dollars without China, China will add a further 150M.

Can the jump in China be that large? DM2 made 52 million in China. Are the Minions growing that much in popularity there? 

Thinking 100 million in China might be too high - perhaps 75 million?

Minions was released half a year later than domestic, people already watched it on pirated copies, yet it managed to make more than 50M,

 

Minions are massively popular here and given the development of this market, 150M is the floor for Minions.

Wow - thanks for the update! I hope they don't delay the release after early September or it might hurt its gross there then.
