DAR
That's the first time I've seen Ides of March pop up. The rest seem to be the usual suspects.
CoolioD1
I thought Harry Potter would be in there instead of Ides. The first Potter was nominated in a field of five. But that's a really cool surprise to see Ides in there!! Glad to know it's not out of the race yet.And lol, another nomination for Cars 2... baumer
Why is Cars here?
CoolioD1
Because it's Pixar and the voters are being lazy. Probably didn't see enough animated films.
Gopher
Ides of March is showing up too much, otherwise no surprises. DH2 continues its snub run, even Star Trek was nominated here. Bridesmaids has SAG, PGA and Globe nominations... WGA coming up this week.
JohnnY
Why Bridesmaids when they could've nominated The Tree of Life instead? Edited January 3, 2012 by JohnnY

It's easily the best movie out if those nominees.
baumer
Why Bridesmaids when they could've nominated The Tree of Life instead? Because Tree of Life is a turd...not much better than New Years Eve.
Noctis
I'm actually really disappointed with DH2's snub. It's the first time where I feel actual disappointment.
rockNrollaDIM
Why is Cars here? Because these idiots are lazy and worship the ground Pixar walks on. Don't be surprised if it wins Best Animated Feature by default.
rockNrollaDIM
I would fucking love to see Bridesmaids sneak in for Best Picture. Can you imagine?
Noctis
This was the nail in the coffin for Potter.

Yuck. You mean it's in for Best Picture? I would consider it the least likely of those ten films.
Gopher
And what do you mean Ides is showing up too much? It's easily the best movie out if those nominees.I haven't seen The Artist or War Horse, but IMO Ides is weaker than any of those other selections. Yes, even The Help. RichWS
I remember when people were talking about Star Trek for Best Picture after it made the PGA list. Bridesmaids won't get in. If there will still 10 guaranteed nominees, then we could talk. Not when you're dealing with No. 1 on people's ballots. I don't see Bridesmaids getting too many of those (and I loved the movie). Tree of Life and Drive though have a good choice at a nomination. The 5% rule is the most important factor to think about
