If $68m holds, Furious 7 will have easily set a new Easter opening weekend record in one day, and if it can get a little higher will have grossed more during the day than any 2D film in history. Not much else to say other than holy FUCK

Holy shit at that OD! Last time I was here this evening the range was 50-55m. This is insane. I can't believe a Fast and Furious movie is probably going to out-open a Star Wars movie. This is easily the most fascinating and unique box office franchise I can think of in its trajectory/history.

I think $1B WW is quite possible now. Domestic will finish in $300m territory, and going by the record openings in Asian markets, China should do at least $150m. Rest of the markets should easily do $500m+.

 

Given the adverse exchange rates, this would be quite an achievement!
