That huge OW theater count was dumb to begin with tbh.

Yeah, but the major studios usually lock their movies in for at least 2 weeks of play, and the smaller distributors tend to be picky about the movies they give wide releases to. So a huge drop like that is super uncommon in week 2

Locked for lowest grossing in the BSG.

Smaller studios don't have the negotiations power the big boys have. It is not the first time this happens with a movie going wide from a smaller distributor. Pretty sure The Identical also lost a few theaters on week 2.

Luckily it wasn't announced for wide release before the game started, I think.

April 25th it was announced wide so it qualifies.

Baumer didn't provide a list, so we go with whatever was on the last week of April.

So is 200m dead for Cinderella? Disney isn't going to leave it in theaters for 6 months like Tangled just to hit that milestone?

It probably will hit it. I don't think it's gotten far enough to enter second run theaters, yet.

The good thing is that has already made 5 times its budget.  So its a big success nonetheless.

A 8-10% drop today will put it at 3.9M going into the weekend. Looks like a 35M weekend unless Mad Max and PP2 hurt it more than expected.

AOU Thu should end up about 4m good considering  MMFR& PP2 previews in eve. PP2  prev should endup 35-40% ahead MMFR , Friday will be interesting.

It's going to be a very interesting Friday/weekend indeed.
