misafeco
Captain America is going to be higher than Iron Man. I'll bet my life on it. We'll see, but I don't think you have a good chance.
Kalo
57th: Augustus - The Fault in Our Stars - Ansel Elgort 35pts - 2 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drwdXDPKA6Q Well so this happened. Not much to say, hateful looking film has 2 fans (one massive). Therefore a small number of visitors to this thread will be happy as can be, the sensible majority will feel as i do and be fine with me moving on right now. No it doesn't have only 2 fans. also.. sure you disagree with something, but you are awfully biased in your statements, no offense and I know this is just a countdown based on a few votes, but it's pretty unprofessional to state your hatred for something.. right in the countdown, that people who submitted to you to make this countdown possible.

chasmmi
More people should have voted for Toto. I actually thing the number of people voting for Toto was almost exactly spot on. Just a mere one vote too high

chasmmi
53rd: Maximus - Gladiator - Russell Crowe 36pts - 3 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSomiNeUIfY Ok, back to the proper end of the list now and we have one of the best speeches in modern film. I'll admit I found Gladiator the film a little on the long and dull side, but Russell Crowe is clearly at the height of his powers in scenes such as the one above. He really can bring it to a role when he wants to (and when he doesn't want to, he'll just sing a song instead it seems The only character of Crowes to receieve any votes whatsoever (although i came close to giving his character in 'A Good YEar' a point or two as that is still my favourite Scott/Crowe collabeoration.), there is still a chance though that characters from the mind of Ridley Scott may be yet to make their presence in the list felt
chasmmi
52nd James Bond - Casino Royale - Skyfall - Daniel Craig 36pts - 4 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZxNbAwY_rk One of a handful of characters so far to have appeared in at least 3 cinematically released films (I make it the 9th actually so not exactly a mere handful) and a testament to what a difference a coupple of years makes. Craig's Bond has slipped since 2013 from 40th place then to 52nd now, but he has leapt into the position of top-rated Bond as Connery's incarnation plummets from 27th down to 109th and missing the list enttirely (I'd call that a big shock.) Roger Moore is yet again down in the low 200s as the third and final Bond to register points. One only has to wonder then whether the upcoming Spectre will be the film to launch Craig up even further next time around, or pour a Quantum of Solace style dampener on the Skyfall inferno.
chasmmi
51st - John Rambo - Rambo 1-4 - Sylvester Stallone 37pts - 3 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U27Sd58MMEI Okay, now we are talking. Two action heroes in a row and this one is a big one. Admittedly theis is a big drop from the crazy heights of 13th in the first list, but a place short of 50th is still not too shabby even if it is disappointing on a personal note. But then every fan of a chracter out there will feel their own favourites are far to low, that's how it goes. Rambo is definitely Stallone's second character (no prizes for guessing the one still to come) and as far as second characters from the same actor go, there are very few people out there who can claim to have a second best as iconic as Sly's. chasmmi
50th - Minions - Despicable Me - Chris Renaud 37pts - 4 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYXTZh8CW4E You know what? I ain't even mad, the minions are awesome and I actually smile to see something so fun and silly get the votes that the Minions did. They really give life to the Dispicable Me franchise and the trailers for the new films suggest that it's only going to get better in the world of minion love. They are awesome, that's all that needs to be said really
misafeco
53rd: Maximus - Gladiator - Russell Crowe 36pts - 3 Votes Yes! I'm not a Ridley Scott fan, but Gladiator is one of the best historical movies ever. Crowe and Phoenix are great in this too.
chasmmi
49th - Samwise - LOTR Trilogy - Sean Astin 38pts - 3 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlyYBtASteQ One half of one of the greatest love stories never told, Samwise is I believe the first (but not the last) time that Lord of the rings appears on this. It may not surprise anyone to know that nothing from the Hobbit Trilogy (new characters wise) made it into the top 100 with the highest and only finisher being Bilbo at 213th. I must admit that Sam making the top 50 did come as a shock to me, not because he is by any means a bad character, but more down to the fact that I expected him to be much more overshadowed by cast members yet to come.
chasmmi
48th - Ethan Hunt - Mission Impossible 1-4 - Tom Cruise 38pts - 4 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar0xLps7WSY At just 16 years of age, Ethan is quite a shock inclusion on this list, especially as I didn't realise that forum members were eligi... what's that? Mission Impossible? That was a terrible N64 game back in the 90s wasn't it? Seriously though, Tom Cruise is a great actor and can play a number of great roles. This is his only spot in the top 100, but no less than 7 characters got nominations to some degree which is impressive. Again if we talk personal I'd be voting for his more dramatic roles such as Few Good Men or Rain Man, whereas others may pick Top Gun, Days of Thuinder or even Tropic Thunder for that matter. Either way though, this is his main role of the 21st century and it is a role that he owns. Turning a pretty dated and actually quite uncool 70's TV show into a major Worldwide boxoffice juggernaught is something that only about 20 franchises can claimed to have achieved
chasmmi
47th - Robocop - Robocop - Peter Weller 38pts - 4 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBccZfvPXFc Well, well, well, Robocop beat Rambo, that's quite a turnup for the books. Coming in at quite a high position, Robocop is a throwback to when action was proper R Rated and blood came in bags instead of pixels. the Robocop films were the 80s at the height of its powers and you can only really praise the filmmaking at the time for going all out with ideas that would get watered down in today's market. I actually didn't mind the remake at all, but at the end of the day, this is still the real Robocop. .
chasmmi
46th - Aragorn - LOTR Trilogy - Viggo Mortensen 39pts - 2 Votes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2Z6aq6szsQ And we return to the world of Tolkien already with our second Middle Earthian. The highest rated character to only receive 2 votes which shows him to be a character that gets a lot of love from some members of the audience. Viggo was never supposed to be Aragorn, it was only when the original actor failed to live up to Jackson's expectations that a replacement was called in. Mortensen has pretty much shunned mainstream roles since this character (including reprising the role in the Hobbit films) and thus this was the only role of his to earn votes, but it has a strong place in the hearts of LOTR fans and he's not being forgotton soon.
