Matinees today were just as busy as yesterday. Pitch Perfect and Mad Max have been neck-and-neck all weekend.

That's interesting.  PP2 had a much higher gross yet most of the big theatres had MMFR at #1.

Calgary seems to Avengers heartland.  Actually, looks like he posted that theatre twice.

Excuse me? I just posted that because Gitesh used the word 'final'. I was excited because the 'final' number was higher than the estimates. The tweet didn't have any 'zeros' in it. I am sorry for thinking that the final number is not the actual number.

I don't create threads because I think it should be a race. What would I get? Compare the number of threads I have made to yours.

And please. I do worse? You allow Neo to create threads here even if the films are not dated and I do worse? You can't even make clear rules here. I don't even know if mods here know what the rules are.

Are you still upset about what happened a few days ago?

Woo! Seattle represent!

(Pac Place is my most local theater. Thornton's actually where I saw FR, though.)

damn, what a flop. I dont get why they released this in 1000 theaters when there was no marketing whatsoever.

Now I get it.  I always thought that was a list of the highest grossing theatres and then the movie you listed was simply #1 in that theatre.

My guess is that PP2 had to be very close behind MM in all those theaters.  How else do you explain MM being the top dog in so many yet losing out to PP2 by more than 20 mill?

And it is nice to see so many Canadian theaters in the top 15 as we did have a holiday here this weekend.  My theater was packed today too, and Bombay Velvet was selling really well to the Indian community here.  But PP2 and MM were solid all day.

Since today was a holiday in Canada, we may see better Monday holds, but probably a drop on Tuesday then since the effect of cheap tuesday increases will be counteracted by the holiday.
