Overall, this was a decent weekend. It's pretty low for Memorial Day, but still 5 movies earned $20 million plus this weekend. 

 

For Memorial Day, it's awful.

 

Memorial Day is not supposed to be a decent movie-going weekend. It's supposed to be one of the best movie weekends of the year.

The selection of films this year was less appealing than usual so it's not like there's a slump going on.

 

That's true. Studios didn't schedule their films in May thinking A: AOU would be so dominant. Well...

Tomorrowland easily led the weekend but this is such a disappointment considering it's high budget and especially when you add prints and advertising costs even if it does good ok overseas it will not help losses for Disney.

i guess studios were scared of Ultron; They should be less scared now. Jurassic World could have made a killing on this date.
