It's from the guy that made That's My Boy and Horrible Bosses 2 so that probably explains it. They probably needed McKay directing it. Never saw Get Hard, although I've heard some things... Get Hard isn't quite hateful, it's just unpleasant and not funny. It's true, the whole movie is one big, 90 minute rape joke. After a while I didn't have any energy to be offended (and there's something ughhh every three minutes), just got numb to the whole thing and zoned out.
