And to think there are people defending the idea if a making a sequel to an unsuccessful movie like Pacific Rim

These sequels wouldn't exist if not for OS. They end up profitable no matter how hard they bomb DOM.

Speaking of Spielberg/Lucas, Mr. Trevorrow is having one of the most successful directorial breakouts since the two of them.

If we're looking at the percentage jump from a director's first to second movie, it's impressive. Whedon made a nice jump from Serenity to Avengers, too.

Gareth Edwards' jump from Monsters to Godzilla is pretty huge, too. And he could see another big jump with his next film.

The point about Lucas hypocrisy on changing old black and white films is pretty good. Wonder what made him change his position so drastically on this issue. Also good point about the VFX artists who won an Oscar for the original movie and Lucas replaced it with CGI. Pretty disrespectful of their work.

For someone so incredibly successful Lucas sure is a stupid hack. He must have sold his soul or something. How 6 such terrible movies have done so well and seem so compelling is a mystery.

I'd rather slam my dick in the car door than watch The People vs. George Lucas. Whoooo caaaares

People turning their dumb thinkpieces into documentaries, taking attention away from real documentaries

Pretty annoying trend
