CJohn
I would say that proves just how loved the first Hangover was compared to the first Ted. Hangover 2 was released 2 years after the first one. I still think Ted 2 would have performed better if it was released last year.

Maybe, but nowhere near as well as Hangover 2 relative to the original movie performance for each franchise.

Mojoguy
RTH underpredicted Inside Out last weekend initially, so I think it definitley has strong enough milennial appeal to go up a bit tonight. It's going to be a very close battle for first this weekend. IO also had a bigger Friday last week, but JW ended up beating IO by 16.5m for the weekend. It wasn't even close. The same thing should happen again this weekend.
Mitch
I wonder how many people had Ted 2 over JW in their summer prediction.

I think it would have performed way better. Lets see how MMXXL does next week. First one was also released 3 years ago.

redfirebird2008
That happened because of Fathers Day. Take away $7m boost from Father's Day and it still grossed $9m higher despite Inside Out making $5m more on Friday.
Blankments
Ted 2 disappointing makes me oddly happy in a schadenfreude-y way. Inside Out being #1 makes me happier tho

WrathOfHan
I enjoyed the first Ted but not enough to see the sequel in theaters. I'll watch it when it's on HBO in 8-9 months.
passerby
I'm hoping for IO > JW > Ted2. The Boston scenery distracts me in Ted. I get distracted when I watch movies that film in places I know well . . . anybody else?
