The most important is its international section since boxoffice.com still doesn't have its own. The terrible thing is, BOM has stopped caring about it. Their China section is a wasteland. lol

The Numbers has some international details, if they have added them, not for all movies

A German site lists a lot of international details, including per year, weekend... also for international datas. The man who does that site is a former cinema owner and has also a lot of insight. And is rather very nice IMHO

insidekino.com

They have several countries 'only' as admissions = not 'clear' money-wise, but for a lot of situations I even prefer those. Maybe you can start to get a feel for their system with some help from the international board, the user for Germany's thread is really knowledgeable in general and nice too?

Since I read that Trank waned to have a The Fly-like scary realization of each superhero's mutation, I haven't stopped thinking about it. Would have been a very novel take. Of course it would have ended on a positive upbeat note and sounds very cool.

Though wonder what vibe an F4 film needs to pull off the battles of the comics. A GotG like vibe I guess.

Yeah, insidekino has been a great source even during BOM days. But I really think boxoffice.com should have its own. BOM can die at any moment.

As often as they have short 'black-outs' and.... late addings.... I also am a bit afraid.

I still can't believe Keith predicted 45m for FF4. Laughable.

Pretty in line with BO.com, Variety. Deadlne and the studio.  He just didn't change his numbers late.  Deadline was still touting it would do $40m+ after the $2.7m previews came in which made no sense at all.

1/2). Fantastic Four (Fox), 3,995 theaters / $11M to $11.5M Fri. (includes $2.7M preview) / 3-day gross: $27M to $29M / Wk 1

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (PAR), 3,988 theaters (+32) / $8.3M to $8.6M Fri. / 3-day cume: $28.4M to $29.4M / Total cume: $107M to $108M (-51%) / Wk 2

3). The Gift (STX), 2,503 theaters / $4M to $4.3M Fri. (includes $585K preview) / 3-day gross: $10.6M to $11.4M / Wk 1

4). Minions (UNI), 3,123 theaters (-452) / $2.3M to $2.5M Fri. / 3-day cume: $8M+ /Total cume: $303M / Wk 5

5/6). Ant-Man (DIS), 2,910 theaters (-412) / $2.25M Fri. / 3-day gross: $8M / Total cume: $147.6M / Wk 4

Vacation (WB), 3,430 theaters (+19) / $2.5M Fri. / 3-day cume: $8M (-46%) / Total cume: $36.1M / Wk 2

7). Ricki and the Flash (SONY), 1,603 theaters / $2.3M Fri. (includes $200K preview) / 3-day gross: $7M+ / Wk 1

8). Trainwreck (UNI), 2,525 theaters (-435) / $1.8M Fri. / 3-day gross: $5.9M to $6.1M / Total cume: $91M / Wk 4

9). Pixels (SONY), 2,864 theaters (-859) / $1.6M Fri. / 3-day cume: $5.4M / Total cume: $57.5M/ Wk 3

10). Southpaw (TWC), 2,274 theaters (-498) / $1.2M Fri. / 3-day cume: $4.3M to $4.6M / Total cume: $40M+ / Wk 3

11). Shaun the Sheep Movie (LGF), 2,320 theaters / $1.2M Fri. (715K Wed. preview) / 3-day cume: $3.6M to $4M / 5-day cume: $5.2M to $5.5M / Wk 1

With these numbers, next weekend could be:

  1. Straight Outta Compton: $48 million
  2. The Man From UNCLE: $21 million
  3. MI5: $17 million ($138 million)
  4. The Fantastic Four: $9 million ($40 million)
  5. The Gift: $8 million ($25 million)
  6. Minions: $6 million ($312 million)
  7. Vacation: $5.5 million ($45 million)
  8. Ricki and the Flash: $5 million ($16 million)
  9. Trainwreck: $4.5 million ($98 million)
  10. Pixels: $3.5 million ($63 million)

Would love to see Compton open to 8 Mile adjusted ($70-75 million), and UNCLE open to Kingsman numbers ($35-40 million) to reignite the box office. However, $40 million+ for Compton and $20 million+ for UNCLE is enough to prevent next weekend from being a total fail.

If August keeps being this atrocious, I just might start a Sep-Dec (releases only, not actual calendar gross) 2015 over May-Aug 2015 DOM  keyword: might

Weak $11.3M opening day FRI for #FantasticFour heading to about $28M wknd - half of what 1st FF pic debuted to 10yrs ago.

#FantasticFour will generate one of worst openings ever for summer superhero movies. Bad buzz clobbering it.
