t2 is an unoriginal film.. heard it all.

Because I've never seen a strong badass female heroine before.

Because I've never seen a robot awesome hero before.

Because I've never seen an annoying 80/90s sidekick kid before.

Because I've never seen a time travel movie before.

you're being purposely facetious

Even Shrek was based on a book, only perhaps 3-4 of the sws films are original (TFA AND R1 completely unoriginal)

There are two ways a sequel is unoriginal,

1) It is based of a book/comic/tvseries

2) It doesn't add try anything new and mimics the first film for that easy $$$

Would you call T2 unoriginal, I think not. Would you call Iron Man 2 original? i think not.

I think by definition a sequel to an "original" movie is unoriginal except if it's in an anthology series. Avatar 2 it's set in the same world as the first Avatar, with the same characters, and follows up on the story. I do consider Terminator 2 to be unoriginal for the simple reason that a sequel can't be original.

Of course I understand where you're coming from, but honestly the word original can't be black and white. It has to be a spectrum.
Because otherwise literally everything is unoriginal.

That's the conundrum of Hollywood, isn't it? Everyone demands originality but almost everything has been done. To me, I don't seek "originality" but rather trying to execute ideas in a fresh way, like the first John Wick movie. Hence I'm really hyped for John Wick 2 which is getting universally praised so far. :)

Perhaps this is English slang but if something is rated, it means it's regarded as high quality.

Well, if you're English, you've probably heard of Robbie Williams:

How do you rate the morning sun?  (Like the sun we will live to rise.)

How many stars would you give to the moon?  (Freak out in a moon age daydream, oh yeah.)

I guess what I'm trying to say here is,

MARVEL RULES OK!

That's English too, innit?

well I'll say if John Wick 2 is as good as the first one then it's SW, JW, Marvel and DC are tied and Avatar after all that

Well there is also the one good DC movie of the year coming out as well this coming weekend so sure.
