RichWS
It's a budget thing. Indie spirit guidelines say films under 20 million budget can be considered.... although the budget is a little above 20 million, but whatever, Harvey wants what he gets. It's ridiculous. Kvikk Lunsj
That's good. Nice to see MK getting some love.I was disappointed in MK.
CoolioD1
Moonrise Kingdom is awesome. Hope it can find enough love to sneak in here.

Alpha
Moonrise Kingdom could get into the Best Picture crowd, but that's not guaranteed yet. It's definetly a lock for Original Screenplay, though.
4815162342
The scenes with the Khaki Scouts of Norton's troop were my favorite in MK."I don't know about you, but I'm not going to be the one who forgot to bring a weapon."

The Stingray
My New Weekly Rankings: 1. Lincoln 2. Les Mis 3. Argo 4. ZD30 5. Life of Pi 6. Silver Linings 7. The Impossible 8. Amour 9. Beasts of the Southern Wild 10. Moonrise Kingdom Are those ranked in terms of their Oscar chances, or what you think of them?
RichWS
Mainly Oscar chances, but obviously a bit of the latter. That's the case whenever someone ranks the films. Your personal opinion and what you think the Academy will go for plays a big part of it. I'm not putting Les Mis at #1 because I don't like putting movies that haven't opened at the very top. After seeing SLP, I don't think it has much of a shot at winning. Edited November 28, 2012 by RichWS

Ozymandias
Argo should win BP IMO. Lincoln was alright, but its also a little historically innaccurate.

Alpha
Dark Knight Rises should win BP. My alternate would be Argo or Lincoln. Maybe SLP, idk.

Michael Gary Scott
Good list except I think you have zero dark thirty too low. It has a lot of buzz right now.
riczhang
1. Les Mis 2. Lincoln 3. ZD30 4. Argo 5. Life of Pi 6. Amour 7. Silver Linings (This is a Surefire nomination, but it won't come within miles of winning) 8. Django Unchained 9. Moonrise Kindom 10. The Master I'm predicting 7 or 8 Nominations. I think that this year there are enough really strong movies to coalesce support around maybe 7 or 8 movies. There will be about 5 or 6 main contenders and 1 or 2 small indie movies dragged in on Prestige and Extreme Passion. Think Tree of Life or EL&IC (Though hopefully not as egregious as the latter. ) Edited November 29, 2012 by riczhang
