They had a quote on Weather.com that 85 million people are under some form of warning now (blizzard, winter storm, freezing rain) - that is 1/4 of US population. Combine that with a Sunday that would be depressed anyway due to football and i'm thinking movies might do 20-25% less than expected.

For that, though, it needs a >15.5 week-end and I'm pretty sure that my prediction of 1.5 - 2 - 2 - 2 is wrong for next week, so really, this 2M lead is probably temporary Anyway, good number! I think it does as it seems to be - at least in part - be a family movie. And being myself a mother... = if my son would still be young enough... I'd drive at another day/weekend, not during those kind of alarms. I do drive during real bad weather if needed for a reason, but if there is a chance to visit a cinema on a later day, why have a stressful drive to enjoy a movie and than again have a stressful drive? I prefer to enjoy my outings in complete... then and now.

I think awareness is huge because the damn marketing has been relentless. However, I don't think it's at all safe to say 50+ OW yet given I'm sure there are tons of people who can't stand the marketing. It is very divisive.
