No....but some other people...(specifically the male audience) wanted to see a popcorn-flick in March...so Rise of an Empire was one of their only choices.

And that film surprisingly did well, WW-wise, despite the factors going against that movie....(No Gerard Butler, no Zack Snyder)

Wrong. Zack Snyder's name was all over marketing.

You need stop thinking that a movie can't do well because of competition, especially when they don't even have the same target, actually, 300 was not even that big OS to hurt another movie, Peabody flopped because it had no appeal with the GP both DOM and OS

I am not sure why he is comparing both neither. Kinda nonsense tbh. The success of one has nothing to do with the failure of the other but whatever.

Because you didn't like Peabody. :P You didn't feel the appeal.....so to each his own...other people liked it though.

I don't know if this has been quoted yet, but this jab at Dirty Grandpa from Deadline made me laugh:

What a shock, critics who don't remember what it's like to get laid, give a crude comedy about getting laid bad grades.  Porky's was also hammered when it came out and that became an all time classic.  Sometimes you just have to appreciate films for what they are.  I think the film looks pretty funny.

More sporting cancellations.  The New York Islanders/Philadelphia Flyers game has been canceled now as well. That was to take place in Long Island.  The storm is killing entertainment this weekend.

Agreed. Sometimes audiences just want to go to the movies and turn their brain off. It has nothing to do with their intelligence level that they want to see a dumb comedy.

Porky's and Fast Times, my 2 favorite back in high school. Then PG13 fucked everything up

Yep, mine too.  American Pie is a terrific homage to those films.  And yes, we need more R rated teen films.

Ouch, Anomalisa did not expand well. Looks like the end of the road for it.

The fact that it is gonna potentially end above 1.5M is kind of amazing.
