Okay, I am going to do SOTM5 but there will be a couple of * films where the final score may change by 1000 if a film does/doesn't pass the 5M landmark I expect it to by end of game:

Here is the deal: You give me and 20,000 of your hard earned points and use them to invest in any of the films that will be shown below. For every 5 million dollars that film makes at the Domestic Box Office by the end of the game, you will make 1000 points.

So if a film ends on $79.5M, you will earn 15000 points for that film. If it makes $80.3M you get 16000.

This SOTM is actually designed so that players should all make a healthy profit on their investment, the question is how much and what is the correct course of action.

You can invest in as many films as you wish so long as you don't spend more than 20,000 points

* You cannot invest less than 20,000, if you only invest 15,000 the other 5000 will still be taken so you may as well spend it all.

I will allow players to abstain for 2000 points, but I can't see anybody taking that offer as it would been you are not confident in say Finding Dory crawling its way to $100M  for example :)

Films for Sale:

Finding Dory - 20000  480M = 96000

Suicide Squad - 12000 295M* = 59000 (+1000 IF IT PASSES 300M)

Jason Bourne - 10000  150M* = 30000 (+1000 IF IT PASSES 155M)

SOTM 7 is below:

Finding Dory as of Sunday is on about $286.552M. Independence Day is on about $41.6M.

Usually this is the point when I would ask you how high they will go and you get increasing amounts of points depending on how ballsy you want your high prediction to be.

Well this time we turn that on it's head. Here the big points will be on the lowest grosses in the list. you are predicting which mark you expect the film to fail to reach. Let's show you the Finding Dory List:

Titanic - $658.67M - 2000 / 3000

The Avengers - $623.35M - 3000 / 4000

Goldfinger (ADJ) - $568.85M - 5000 / 7000

The Dark Knight - $534.85M - 8000 /10000

Back to the Future (Adj) - $506.65M - 12000 /15000

Superman (ADJ) - $492.13 - 16000 /20000

Phantom Menace - $474.54M - 20000 /24000

Star Wars - $460.99M- 25000 /30000

E.T - $435.11M - 30000 /35000

In this situation, if you bet on Avengers, you will win 3000 points UNLESS Dory's final total outgrosses Avengers, if this happens you will lose 4000 points

Below is the list of targets for Independence Day:

Spectre - $200.07M - 2000 / 3000

Jurassic Park 3 - $181.17M - 3000 / 4000

Big Daddy - $163.48M - 5000 / 7000

Little Fockers - $148.43M - 8000 /10000

Rocky 4 - $127.87M - 12000 /15000

Green Lantern - $116.60 - 16000 /20000

Driving Miss Daisy - $106.59M - 20000 /24000

Beverly Hills Chihuahua - $94.51M- 25000 /30000

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip - $85.89M - 30000 /35000

You are free to go for one question or both questions. If you go for both you are eligible to go for the following bonus question (you do not have to though)

1. Will Suicide Squad make more opening weekend than IDR does Total? 10000/5000  YES, VERY MUCH SO

Deadline is Thursday at 11:59pm, no abstaining.

WrathofHan: 38000

JakeGittes: 38000

Infernus: 38000

Panda: 38000

Kayumanggi: 38000

Darkelf: 38000

Chewy: 38000

Simionski: 35000

Dajk: 34000

Wrath: 34000

JJ99: 34000

Exxdee: 34000

24Lost: 23000

Narniadis: 22000

Baumer: 18000

Chasmmi: 15000

Glassfairy: 14000

LAGuy: 14000

JJ8: 12000

bcf: 12000

Damienroc: 12000

Blankments: minus 4000

ThatoneGuy: minus12000

Movieman: minus 12000

Tele: minus 27000

Failing to answer here will be minus 35000 points as is equal to maximum loss for one question.

Well actually SOTM 5 and 7 have pretty much the exact same swing in points between first and last. (although not answering SOTM 5 is much more painful than ignoring SOTM 7) :)

I will wait until end of game for SOTM 8, as things like Question 2, 5, and 6 are all still changing and could tip somebody into new points brackets.

SOTM9 rests on Suicide Squad's march to 300M. I am not saying I am invested in this question, but if it makes it, I win 50k

SOTM10 was helpfully done by @Infernus barring the one part that has to wait till end of game.

SOTM 12 and 13 must also wait till end of game so here is where I end my scoring spree.

Just now, NuTella Lover of Sky Beams said:

That goddamn bonus for being closest to CA3's WW opening is gonna salve the pain a bit. Unless other people score multiple bonuses on the other OWs, I suppose.

It's the madness of this game. I somehow find myself having 65k resting on Suicide Squad reaching 300M

I can't wait to drop 10 or so places due to screwing up something monumentally in my preseasons, just like in the Winter Game. I mean, something has to happen for Tele and me to end up next to each other in the standings.

Heaven forbid that happens by me dramatically gaining points, instead of you losing them.
