meridan
Sucks to hear. Was really hoping for at least a $110M total for WW84 in China. It's sounding like it might not even make as much as the first movie did. Edited December 10, 2020 by meridan
Gavin Feng
Well, Flower already hit ¥2M. Maybe No.1 pre-sale title of DEC on the first day of selling?

charlie Jatinder
So I was wondering about how this particular comp will hold. T-8 Days, WW84 pre-sales were 48% of Dark Phoenix. T-7 Days is expected to be 57% Approx. Final numbers of two may be close call. That's not a good thing. Edit: If looking at number of days of sale. After 2 days, DP was 0.75mn on 28k shows 12 days out, while WW84 was 0.8mn on 33k shows 8 days out. Can say head to head but gotta put the difference of 4 days. charlie Jatinder
Removed Aquaman as comp, will use Shazam and Dark Phoenix. And actually, many DC fans commented on official DCFilms weibo with some words like "can you just f-cking start pre-sale and do something useful for marketing" days before the beginning of selling. The buzz exist. Once pre-sale started, official weibo of studios would keep posting marketing materials with links to ticket pages of Maoyan and Taopiaopiao. It's just like what they did on Twitter for domestic market. Now, I'm still not sure why it feels so quiet

Gavin Feng
at this moment, most local analysis firm predict ~¥900M lifetime for WW84 while ¥750M lifetime for The Rescue. They predicted ¥1.2 billion lifetime for A Little Red Flower. But I've heard better numbers from those data analysts since it started selling. The most ridiculous prediction I've heard so far is $150M 3-day weekend with 6 hours THU previews.
