MrFanaticGuy34
BOM has updated DM3's gross recently. $720M OS $975M WW OS-wise, it has topped Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's $718M. And WW-wise, it topped Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's $974M. Looks like Felonius Gru, Lucy and the 3 girls managed to beat Harry Potter & Bilbo Baggins's films at the box office. Ugh... those comparisons are completely inaccurate and that coming from a person that was really happy about the success of DM3. Sorcerer's Stone would have adjusted close to $1.5b today.

The absolute numbers comparison is extremely unreal and unfair, mainly with HP1 in this case. Edited August 31, 2017 by peludo
Asyulus
Here's my analysis for this week: Standing at $975.4m, it will only need $24.6m to cross the $1b mark. I will say by next week it will add an additional $11m, totaling up to $986.4m. 986.4 + 8.4 + 5.4 + 3.24 + 1.94 + 1.16 + 0.7 + 0.41 + 0.25 + additional 0.3 from holdovers + 2 (Greece) = $1,010,200,000 This is mostly using 40% drops, though some are a bit lower. Using 35% drops: 986.4 + 9.1 + 5.91 + 3.84 + 2.5 + 1.62 + 1.05 + 0.68 + 0.45 + 0.29 + additional 0.36 from holdovers + 2 (Greece) = $1,014,200,000 Edited August 31, 2017 by Asyulus
Omni
Lol, 975M WW after a weekend close to 15M (with Japan still running strong and one modest market still to come) and you are taking sub-1.015B as a possibility? Wide range is probably 1.025/1.040.

Wide range is probably 1.025/1.040. DM3 is already at $57m in Japan, where it should end at $65-75m. It's just my analysis and can go higher. Italy is the primary factor. DM3 gross by last weekend is $972m (8/27), while the $975m was on 8/28, Monday. Per BOM.

MinaTakla
DEADLINE Meanwhile, Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 3 is getting thisclose to the $1B worldwide box office mark.
