Every suggestion i see here regarding marvels future storytelling makes me really glad no one here has any say in it. Hilariously bad

We had all of Phase 4 people saying Marvel needed to start on the bigger plan, there needs to be a bigger plan, how are they going to do box office without a bigger plan, and the second they announced the bigger plan suddenly it's too much bigger plan, why are they announcing the bigger plan

I wouldn’t consider Volume 3 as the real test for the state of the MCU. To be fair, after Endgame it just feels unnecessary and people know it. It’s a dead end that doesn’t build up to the main future storyline. There’s just little hype, there’s always been little hype.

If you're saying that we should evaluate the future of the MCU based on movies that set up future key characters and story arcs, I have some bad news for you.

They fucked up the plan the moment they decided it was a good idea to have the next Thanos get into a fistfight with the weakest superhero in the MCU........... let's not pretend Marvel is doing a great job getting people excited about their "bigger plan".

Yeah some of you is really annoying with this doom and gloom, and this is coming from someone who constantly talk about the crackings on the franchise

Just like all the good will from people evaporate in just over a year, it can get back, there´s literally no reason to think a 2025 movie will bomb because of Quantumania

Presales for this is awful and there´s no discussion about it, this is paying for the sins of the bad movies before it and it´s counting with great reviews to have a shot in opening with 125M or so and avoid a total embarassing performance, getting just a disappointing one.

Still, at this point i think the movie being good is even more important for MCU than being huge on box office, they need to drop quality content again to solve the problem. If their releases for this year ended up well received by critics and respected again by the audiences, by next year things can be completely different.

300 DOM + 350M OS but with great WOM would be honestly better for the brand than another MOM type of run with big numbers but increasing the pile of bad taste on the audiences.

How do you make a good superhero movie? Something that is exciting to those who saw Endgame? That's easier said than done. What we are seeing now is the exact same thing that happened to Marvel in the 90s, the Infinity Gauntlet saga was so successful that Marvel spent decades trying to replicate it. In the end they went bankrupt because they alienated so much of their fans with hyped crossover sagas that disappoint. I think a lot of people have grown to take the MCU's success for grated and do not appreciate how much of a miracle the whole Avengers thing was. And how there's a good chance it will never ever be replicated again in our lifetimes. It doesn't help that the man responsible for it all, Kevin Feige, seems to be in a different stage of his career and seems happy to step back, letting others run the show.

Back to GOTG, vol 2 by itself was already a noticeable drop in quality compared to vol 1 so there's always going to be a question as to how vol 3 can be as good as vol 1. Or whether we need a vol 3 in the first place considering the MCU has more or less moved away from what GOTG was trying to set up.

That´s for then to solve, not us. But it is possible, maybe course correct and not try to compete with Endgame is the way to go, like i said, everything turn in 1 year, not 10 to take for granted that everything will continue in this path.

I agreed infinity saga was a miracle, but they don´t have to make a IW / EG / NWH every 2 years, they can survive doing movies that aren´t destined to gross 2B.

And honestly, thise whole ´´oh Vol. 2 was noticeable worse and is not very liked´´ simply isn´t true, personal opinions aside, the movie get amazing reception from audiences in all the metric that matters, including one of the best multipliers ever for a MCU sequel. At the same level of 1 certainly not, but Vol 1 pretty much shut all the ´´Marvel is dying´´ discourse that we´re hearing since 2012 when Avengers dropped, it was a game changer for the studio and obviously you can´t compete with that directly, but you can get great reception besides that like it happened with Vol 2.

Whatever happens with Vol 3, is not because of a meh second movie, at least for the GA

They didn't duck up any plan and Kang  isn't a powerhouse like Thanos.  Never was in comics.  He is a normal human who relies on future tech just like the movie.  His real power is his endless variants and his knowledge of the future which gives him an edge.

So JUST LIKE THE MOVIE.

The guy who can grow to the size of a building at will is the "weakest hero in the MCU" how exactly?

It's funny when back then people complained Thanos wasn't built much until IW apart from post credits scenes.

Exactly! People kept saying they hadn't built up Thanos as a real threat, but when they have Kang actually have a more active role, they say they need to keep him in the shadows. People just wanna complain.

Scott took half of Kang army head on and almost demolished his city and brought down an insanely powerful barrier and people complain cause Kang lost when his armor got damaged and he had to resort to his fjghtning skills alone.  Remind me how was Scott faring in his 1-vs1 against Kang

Also, if the bar is "how they do in a 1 on 1 fight", nobody actually defeats Thanos. All the heroes in the MCU combined couldn't beat him, he was only killed because of the Gauntlet. The only time he loses onscreen is when he's literally already won, not fighting back, and has nearly killed himself with the Gauntlet twice over anyways.

So it begins. Should have done a while ago. Absolutely shitty presales forced disney to go on overdrive to ensure OW does not do so bad like missing 1st movie OW !!!!

I have 2 free passes at the nearby AMC. Hopefully the movie does not disappoint.

They did it for Shang-Chi. They've also had preview events for stuff forever, including the first Guardians movie.

Not for very big movies for quite some time, this is the question

They´re doing this because the sales are dreadful, and thank God they´re doing something because just keeps posting clips of comedic beats won´t do the trick

So to be clear, now it's a sign the movie will bomb that...they're releasing free showings a week early?
