It Comes at Night is an incredible gutpunch of a film if you allow yourself to become absorbed in the film's world. It's one of the few films this year that feels like an experience to me.

The misleading marketing is why most of us are shocked at eh CinemaScore.

We, or me atleast, expected like a C- CinemaScore or something.

ok. i thought folks were surprised cause it was maybe an awesome movie getting b+ :) (i haven't watched it)

I feel like it'll squeeeeak over 30M, end up with ~70M total or something.

Yeah, though we can pretty much say goodbye to the planned dark universe, though I'm sure Universal will somehow try it again three years down the line or something.

What's so misleading about the It Comes At Night marketing?

All I know about that movie is there's a loud banging noise behind a red door. If the movie is about anything other than a loud banging noise behind a red door I will feel severely mislead.

Yes, because Christopher Nolan is perfect.  Perfection should be met with precision.

Well then my club is perfectly dead. To be precise,

I think they'll power forward with at least a couple more. If those get trashed as well, then buh-bye Dark Universe, but I don't think this is enough to kill the whole shebang. Plus this does have pretty impressive international numbers.

I am surprised no one picked up on my fake cinemascore.

1) it had a typo

2) cinemascore is an easy source check

3) you should know by now polarizing movies do not score high.  if one sees a B+ for something controversial, it demands an immediate source check.

Why can't they just make monster movies? Why does it have to be a connected universe of monsters? Nobody gives a shit.
