Xillix
Ouch for Extreme Dinosaurs Probably shoulda left it in June instead of in the tail end of the year after all the similar films.
4815162342
@Alpha That 2nd weekend drop for Amulet is unprecedented. Last year Moana dropped 50%. The year before The Good Dinosaur dropped 60%, and the year before that Penguins of Madagascar dropped 57.1%. Basically a 50% drop is the best case scenario for any animated film in its second weekend for the post-Thanksgiving frame.

You've got a point, but I did take some liberties with Harry Quebert opening high that weekend too. But yeah, it definitely wasn't a typical post-Thanksgiving weekend. Xillix
Yeah no offense but add me to the chorus of people who find the Amulet drop... dubious? If you're gonna do a literally unprecedented hold it'd have to have a better score than 80, IMO.

Ezen Baklattan
Looking at Spark Rising again, it had pretty identical weekend legs to Inside Out. I imagine as less of a kid oriented film it would have weaker summer weekdays, but with my calculations it clears $350m. Here's hoping to a good final total! Rorschach
If this was an actual year of film, it would probably be one of the lowest grossing years in the past few decades. Kind of like the real 2017.

A lot of the lowest grossing weekends were due to a severe lack of big releases though, plus since it's the first year of a new game there's a lack of reliable brands that can produce big opening weekends. Year 2 will (hopefully) be a lot different. Edited October 22, 2017 by cookie
