Not sure how It Come at night play on a tv, but really loved it.

Wind River, if you liked anything Sheridan did (Sicario/Hell or High Water) is also a strong recommendation.

Loved both Hell or High Water and Sicario, so if it's similar to those then I'll definitely catch it.

Fuck yeah, I got my syllabus list for the movies I can write reviews on for my film criticism class (AKA write about theory and intertextuality, not actual reviews). I can choose 8 of the following:

The Florida Project

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Wonderstruck

Coco

The Man Who Invented Christmas

The Shape of Water

The Disaster Artist

Just Getting Started

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Greatest Showman

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Downsizing

Father Figures

Pitch Perfect 3

The Post

Phantom Thread

Molly's Game

I know I'm gonna start with Coco and The Disaster Artist, but picking 6 more is gonna be tough...

haven't seen many of those but florida project definitely has a lot to mine.

that'd be my top choice if it was playing by me. I've been trying to see it since early November. as in I went on a two-hour road trip to see it in a city but traffic made us arrive 30 min late <_<

Though the direction and pacing is not as good as either of those two, it's a solid film.

I will probably do Star Wars, I just want to digest it a bit.

If you guys are wondering what I mean by intertextualness or theory, my entire essay on Coco is literally gonna be centered around the fact that they have a cinema in the land of the dead. Disaster Artist will be about how the ending follows the same cinematic language of Saving Mr. Banks's ending despite being more accurate (I think? Will have to read the Disaster Artist before writing this one tbh)

It's that type of criticism, not "I liked the actors!"

the ending of Disaster Artist (film) is not in Disaster Artist (book)

my mom wanted to see a movie today.  she just saw Last Jedi and didn't want to rewatch it again so soon (plus I'm rewatching it tomorrow) so we didn't pick that.  we thought about seeing The Shape of Water but it's only playing at a theater in the city and the only time that would work out is at night and she didn't want to go to the city at night so that was out.  so guess what I'M SEEING TONIGHT AT 7:30
