Who wants to sit in the theater on their phone for half an hour waiting for local ads and Noovie to end? Nobody. Literally nobody.

My non reserved seating theater isn't that crowded anyway outside of Friday and Saturday nights.  Matinee showings of Thor and Coco had like 10 other people in them.

Pretty sure showing up like 5 minutes early to anything not named star wars guarantees you decent seats

Depends on where you live. I go to a theater in a small city and I can get there 10 mins before the movie starts and get a pretty good seat. If you go to a theater in a largely populated area, it's going to be a pain in the ass to get a seat.

I can't wait until my theater finally opens up the left half of the auditorium with all the reserved seating luxury lounger reclining chairs. Think it's gonna be done in time for Star Wars/the holidays and then I guess they'll start on the other side in the new year. Of course, I expect old people will complain about them since they complain about everything. Oh well, time for them to find another theater to pester.

It's not even a small area, it's just that most people go to the reserved seating theater instead of the other one.  which is great because more seats for me!

Is that what you told yourself when nobody else was in the theater with you to watch Valerian this past summer?

I didn't see it there because the screens are too small to experience a visual wonder like Valerian.  I saw it in a halfway filled theater :)

The main non-reserved theater I go to will typically be busy on the weekend no matter what and quiet during the week. It's in an area of The Villages (150k+ population mind you) that hasn't been fully developed yet, so a lot of old people don't like wasting their gas going to the end of the city unless events are going on. The other theaters tend to be busier regardless of what's playing because they're in more developed areas. My local AMC is often busier than this theater too
