I don't want to try and persuade you to hate the movie, but we're coming from two different perspectives on it. It got lousy reviews, was a big disappointment at the box office, and I personally thought it was a wasted opportunity given what I know the franchise has been capable of through the current TV series. If you enjoyed it, great. I just wanted more people to say "It's great" without having to add the "for its target audience" qualifier.

So the Han World Problem category is looking like the following:

Fight with father in movie theater

"THAT'S HER DATE?!?!"

The Blu-Ray Collection

Han's stressful day (Tuesday, December 19, 2017)

Gas Money

Cleaning Service

I know I'm missing some.

I wouldn’t be able to hate it even I tried. It’s so clearly outside my wheelhouse that it would be churlish for me to get angry at it. Plus, like I said, it has a sweet message. Other than that, I know literally nothing about the franchise in general, which is why reviews/expectations meant nothing to me.

But you still didn't tell all your adult friends that it was a must-see masterpiece the way everyone's doing with Coco and Moana, right? That's what I was looking for.

You...dislike the message that kids should be creative?

Harold and George are scummy brats. They have no arc to go through — they do whatever they want with no consequences. They’re basically sociopaths but we’re supposed to root for them because they’re friends with each other and special snowflakes.

There’s no one to root for. The franchise also seems very anti-education and anti-learning to me. All the adults are shit too. It’s nihilism under the veneer of “be creative”. Harold and George are gonna be Randian assholes when they grow up.

Unlike those movies, it’s not aimed at involving or being interesting to adults at all. IMO.
