At the end of the day, I would put all of the blame on Fox for wanting to sell. If Comcast gets them, we can officially say RIP to Fox Searchlight.

So during some free time in box office today I went through for the top grossing movies at my theatre for 2017 (since the last one to make the list just ended its run a few days ago) all values are just in my calculated "our equivalent of" 

 

OPENING WEEKEND:

1. Last Jedi - $247.6M

2. Guardians 2 - $158.8M

3. Beauty and the Beast - $134.8M

4. It - $120.2M

5. Ragnarok - $107.6M

6. Lego Batman - $91.7M

7. Homecoming $72.3M (lmfao)

8. Logan - $63.6M (18A rating didn't help)

9. Cars 3 - $62.5M

10. Boss Baby - $60.0M

11. Dunkirk - $55.4M

12. Daddy's Home 2 - $53.1M

13. Justice League - $52.2M

14. Wonder Woman - $50.8M (thank god for legs amiright)

18. Despicable Me 3 - $46.1M (Saturday opening was Canada day so it deflated number by at least our equivalent of 10M)
