juni78ukr
I think many numbers turn out to be overestimated on Monday. 11m in Russia? No way.
John Marston
maybe but anything above 75m is a win. I only thought 50-60m opening. Besides I thought the Russian opening was predicted at 10.5m so it is the same range Edited March 31, 2013 by John Marston
juni78ukr
Weekend multiplyer in Russia is lower than expected. Around 5 with 1.9m opening day.
Fake
Maybe it's just me but I don't see what is so great about this weekend number.... it is a sequel so it will be frontloaded anyway.... plus this weekend was inflated by Easter, and it had extended openings in many markets on top of that.I won't be surprised to see it drop to the tune of 65% next weekend for holdovers. Current markets will finish with 200m at best. Remaining markets maybe 50m more.
TLK
Very impressive opening. Given that Overseas audience prefer familiar properties, no surprise that Hollywood is greenlighting all sorts of sequels. They just greenlighted GI Joe 3. And after all the postponing drama it could've been a lot worse. Paramount's decision is not as bad as everyone thought it would be.

TLK
Link? Andrew Stewart @Variety_Stewart Yo Joe! After a $132 mil opening for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, Paramount said it will move forward with a third JOE.

John Marston
We will revisit that next weekend, shall we? why? As long as it reaches 250m overseas I would say that would be a fine total. Anything more is just gravy
