And I'm not saying that so not focus on Locusts plot or any other non dinosaur plot point you have in mind, director's vision must not be compromised, it must be followed.

 

But also understand that why people actually pay money and buy tickets to these movies. DINOSAURS..!!

It's sad really that popular culture has twisted Critchon's vision to just purely "Dinosaurs". It was never about the dinosaurs. That was simply an accessible vehicle to get his message across which was a biothriller story about the misuse of science and technology, in this instance genetic power.

Which is why i would be totally ok with Dominion having a side-plot or something similar to that that focuses more on the human greed / sciene thriller aspect of it all which i suspect will play a role.

It was only released in a couple of countries and it's already 6.4 on imdb after 3k votes which is a very bad start because it's going below 6 most likely in this case, lower than FK and JP3, the lowest rated movie in the entire franchise.

Worth noting though that it faces strong competition there from the local mega-hit The Roundup. Fallen Kingdom faced basically 0 competition back in 2018.

This isnt really apples-to-apples though because Lost World opened on Memorial Day weekend and Jurassic Park 3 opened on a Wednesday.
