Love, Simon made 800k last night from 927 theaters. That's incredibly encouraging for next week

I'm predicting $18M for it and $20M for Tomb Raider next week but wouldn't be surprised if they flip-flopped.

Black Panther is kicking ass still. $700M+ here we come!

To the surprise of pretty much no one, A Wrinkle in Time saw an opening in the same range as the other pricey live-action Disney flops this decade (Prince of Persia, John Carter, The Lone Ranger, Tomorrowland). Luckily it didn't cost anywhere nearly as much so it won't leave them swimming in red ink, though it's unlikely to actually turn a profit either.

Strangers did better than I thought it would, but The Hurricane Heist and Gringo were completely rejected unsurprisingly.

Red Sparrow's hold was okay-ish. Game Night and Peter Rabbit have been holding great. Jumanji is closing in on $400M.

Thoroughbreds did as well as it was going to, I guess.

Thor: Ragnarok is still in theaters. Gotta love Disney. They are dedicated to box office.

Predictions for next week:

Black Panther: 26.7M

Tomb Raider: 22M

Love, Simon: 16M

A Wrinkle in Time: 15.5M

Game Night: 5.5M

Peter Rabbit: 5.2M

Red Sparrow: 4.8M

Strangers: 3.7M

Death Wish: 3.3M

I Can Only Imagine: 2.5M

I won't be surprised if WIT drops 55%+. WOM is fucking awful for a family movie, and it has little appeal for anyone over the age of 10.
