SLAM!
I saw the Nancy Drew film starring Emma Roberts from 2007 in theaters and I remember watching it just fine, but losing an important sense of engagement from it. But if they're willing to do it right with a talentef, well-rounded actress like Sophia Lillis, then I'm willing to give this another go. Zakiyyah6
Going solely off of "IT" Sophia Lillis is an infinitely better actress than Emma Roberts so this film is starting off on a better foot already. I will be following this project's development.

terrestrial
A week after Captain Marvel? I do hope for the Nancy Drew fans it wont get drowned. BOM has not added it to their release schedule yet, wondering why. (edit: writing this after 'shoveling' out the first book out of the usual shelves and put it on a ~ book presenter on the desk in the school library) Edited January 19, 2019 by terrestrial

(edit: writing this after 'shoveling' out the first book out of the usual shelves and put it on a ~ book presenter on the desk in the school library) Agreed, it's a bad release date. There's plenty of room for a young female skewing movie on the schedule. They could put it in August or even released it this month which is pretty sparse. Putting it one week after Captain Marvel is foolish.
terrestrial
Has someone an idea why it is still not listed at BOMs release schedule calendar? Gloomy interpretation: either no one cares at WB, someone wants to fail it (see female) to 'proof 'something', its somehow seen as being bad in quality or... whatever https://www.boxofficemojo.com/schedule/?view=&release=&date=2019-03-01&showweeks=5&p=.htm

From it's Wiki page March 15th looks to be a very recently given release date mentioned for the first time on Jan 18th when they trailer was released. Maybe BOM just hasn't updated yet. HSX has. https://www.hsx.com/security/view/DREW2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Drew_and_the_Hidden_Staircase_(2019_film)#cite_note-Vital_Thrills_Release_Date-3 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Drew_and_the_Hidden_Staircase_(2019_film)#cite_note-Slash_Film_Release_Date-4
TMP
CW is doing their own Nancy Drew Also poster: This is gonna follow in Lego Twovie's foot-steps and become WB's second family bomb. Can't see it even hitting double digits.

Can't see it even hitting double digits. I'm not sure yet if this is an actual wide release or its more of a simultaneous VOD thing. It's not even listed on the WB site: https://www.warnerbros.com/search?qt="Movies > In Theaters/Coming Soon"&f[0]=type%3Amovies&s=1 The entire marketing campaign has been similar to a VOD title which gets a token theatrical release because of contractual commitments. WB isn't even the production company, it's through some other company altogether. Yup, looks like it is for VOD more than theaters, the production is WB Home Entertainment: https://www.warnerbros.com/studio/news/ellen-degeneres-very-good-production-wbhe-and-red-56-commence-principal-photography Quote (June 6, 2018 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, A Very Good Production and Red 56 have begun principal photography on “Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase,” an all-new feature film that returns the American icon to filmed entertainment for the first time in more than a decade. The production is based in Georgia filming at specific locations in and around the city of Monroe.

SLAM!
Sophia Lillis deserves better, but everyone has to start from somewhere, and I'd rather she debut with a project such as It and disappear within the VOD sphere for a few years before taking the High-Profile Indie scene by storm than waste all of her short-term notability right away.
