Spoiler

I liked that one evil lady being eaten by the gorilla and her brother being crushed by a piece of debris.  only goofy moments that worked for me.

My top ten of 2018 rn:

1. Unsane

2. A Quiet Place

3. Avengers: Infinity War

4. Black Panther

5. Blockers

6. Love, Simon

7. Isle of Dogs

8. Annihilation

9. Game Night

10. Uhhhh, The Commuter?

I'm considerably less enthusiastic about the bottom four movies than my top 6. This year has been nowhere near as good as the first 5 months of 2017.

Btw, this semester prevented me from seeing a lot of movies I didn't really care about unlike most of last year. Now that I only have two online classes over the summer, May is so empty that I might see next weekend's releases :winomg:

Rampage is the perfect example of a film that 10 years ago would make a ton of money.

However these days why spend 20 bucks to see that, if it comes out on netflix in a few months.

All films come out on Netflix in a couple of months.

As I said, its around urgency to see a film.

If a film does not have a hook or connected storyline or big draw, people wont flock to the cinemas to see it if its coming out on VOD in a few months.

Like I Know TLJ came out on DVD 4 months later but I wanted to know what happend to Luke because I am a huge SW fans so I watched it opening weekend.

tells you all you need to know tbh

If only Annihilation hadn't been sent straight to Netflix in most countries overseas thus cutting into its box office potential. Would've made $500M+ worldwide otherwise.

Annihilation is definitely not a mainstream film.  It does move slow and it's very vague and doesn't offer a lot of resolution at the end.  There's many who enjoy that kind of thing but many who don't.  You can't really criticize someone for not liking that kind of film, imo.

But you liked 12 Strong?

Um not really, I had it on at home and paid attention to the final battle scene so my rating is likely only based on the final 20 mins of the movie :insane:
