Clearly Disney knew the potential for this franchise was smaller than their others since they kept it to a smaller budget than Ragnarok, Homecoming, Dr. Strange and obviously Black Panther. A $200m budget for this would've been a bad decision they managed to avoid.

What is the budget?

Is Europe the only region that Disney delayed their releases? If so, good foreshadowing about who would be in the WC finals lol

There's been an European team in every single world cup final excluding 1930 hosted in Uruguay and 1950 hosted in Brazil.

People focused on Ant-Man crumbling that they’re not paying attention to Incredibles 2 crumbling too. Went from a $35M weekend on Friday to under $29M for the weekend. Oh my. What a drop from Friday estimates.

Disney truly is #CRUMBLING

And at least three European teams in the semi-finals for every World Cup hosted in Europe.

But the LA teams all getting eliminated in the QF? Granted they're probably still watching there but to a less extent will it take over people's lives like in France and England rn.

So some folks around here are acting like this is bad? Sounds about right for BOT

It saw an OW boost by nearly $20m over the first film($57m) and somehow this is bad? Um, no it's not.

It opened on the low end of what most saw as a range of $75-90m. Nothing wrong with this OW at all.

Now let's watch it's legs.

In more exciting Disney news - will AIW pass Solo next w/e or will it lose 40% more theaters again with it's $1,850 PTA

13 (9) Solo: A Star Wars Story Walt Disney $1,071,432 -60% 778 $1,377   $210,931,529 7

15 (12) Avengers: Infinity War Walt Disney $936,335 -39% 506 $1,850   $674,865,809 11

And will Black Panther have to wait until Christopher Robin to hit $700m?

35 (40) Black Panther Walt Disney $31,112 -4% 52 $598   $699,875,819 21

Rumor in the trade is 162m net (so I imagine close to 190-200m gross), keeping the cost down relative to the other MCU entry make it very easy for it to turn a nice profit.

Damn, with losses like this they won't be able to sustain the crumbling DP franchise which will once again cost more and make less.

At this rate, would Black Panther double features with Ant-Man have even done anything to help its gross. Probably would have caused BP to lose money

Ant-Man needed those BP double features to boost its OW :sparta:

With losses like these, they won't have the money to even buy Fox. So no need to worry about the DP franchise.

AM&TW increases 32% o/w from first movie - failure

JW:FK - decreases 28.5% o/w from previous film - success

Sometimes BOT is some kind of special some thing.

Don’t worry, I’ve been consistent is calling both failures

Spoiler

Actually both are just medium, but was hoping for more than medium here.
