All of the themes from his score that have become iconic were original, but that did not matter to the Acedemy, maybe they have changed. It did change which is why Howard Shore was able to win for both FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING and RETURN OF THE KING. It's now a certain percentage of the score has to be original. Mojoguy
RIP. Too young. Austin Butler needs to release a statement offering his condolences to Priscilla and the Presley family ASAP.
filmlover
The suddenness is what makes this so shocking considering she seemed to be in good spirits at the Golden Globes not even 48 hours earlier. Sad. RIP.

I would love to it; I am sure he filmed a lot that was left on the cutting room floor..like the first Ed Sullivan appreance, which was crucial in making Elvis into a major star. dudalb
Lisa Marie's death also creates problems for that upcoming Michael Jackson biopic which I don't have much faith in since it is being directly produced by the Jackson estate, which is not the case here. excel1
After 2nd viewing, despite being too long and Butler giving a far too serious, somber performance (seriously, guy never seems at ease once in the entire film, the opposite of Elvis's energy. Butler acts like he is playing Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins) this is a well-made film and enjoyable overall. Actress who plays Priscilla is great too. "Talkies" have been around for 95+ years, actors have put on/sung with high or deep voices for roles before, then went back to talking like themselves when the job was done. That's...acting? The alternative is not good technique or normal-like, Bradley Cooper didn't walk around sounding like Rocket Raccoon or Jackson Maine until the end of time. Pretty sure we're going to get at least one Brutally Honest Ballot Guy saying, "Oh, come on!" about the Elvis voice. 29 minutes ago, excel1 said: Butler is teetering on overexposure.
