SchumacherFTW
$200 million is an unobtainable goal unless it continues to play for months, which is unlikely considering the Blu-ray release date is rumoured to be in early february. Jonwo
Some Santa Claus movies make up to half of their OS gross in the UK, so RotG could do well here.A Christmas Carol and Arthur Christmas had extraordinary legs, ACC's advantages were being a known title and it had 3D screens to itself until Avatar. Arthur Christmas managed to increase or have small drops even against family films like Puss in Boots and Happy Feet 2.
JCS
Arthur Christmas had great legs, but Aardman is very popular in the UK anyway and it helped massively that the competition - Happy Feet 2 - flopped hard.----Skyfall to $200M? No chance for any film for a long time, unless the exchange rate messes up so it is like £1 to $5...
JCS
BD2 has become the 15th title to cross the £20M milestone in 2012 so far.Has any other year had more films over £20M, anyone? Edited November 27, 2012 by JCS

RthDeadWov
Sky week week to date 5.3m(-33%) cume 90.9m and yes sky is catching up with BD2 for Tu-We only 300k behind
Heretic
Nice! Unless ROTG beats it, Skyfall will retake the top spot this weekend. A 33% drop would mean £2.55m but seeing as it's taking back IMAX, under 30% drop could happen, meaning it could scrape no.1 of all time by Sunday. I don't see why it'd miss £100m either now. It's going to get too close for them not to push it. Edited November 29, 2012 by Heretic
RthDeadWov
Sky should finish week with cume around 91.3, Avatar total was 94.025m
Heretic
So needs just over £2.7m to beat Avatar. It's going to be VERY close.
achooo
Sky should finish week with cume around 91.3, Avatar total was 94.025mI thought Avatar grossed £93.4 (sources - bbc / imdb / wikipedia) - did this number exclude the special edition - why the difference? Not that it will matter in a few days when Bond kicks blue butt ! SchumacherFTW
It's sad to see that Avatar's going down soon, mainly as I preferred it to Skyfall, but I can't deny that watching something reach the summit is always great fun!
