Rsyu
It's possible. At least it should do $8m for the week. But yeah, Gravity had a tiny drop in its second week, something I just can't see happening for Interstellar. The WOM isn't carrying like it was for that. Just a little bit disappointed since UK is usually one of the biggest territories for Nolan films, but it's still one of the better performing markets for IS so I guess you can't really complain.

It's only $0.5m off from Inception. That's pretty good.
Rsyu
It's only $0.5m off from Inception. That's pretty good. Gravity is the better comparison I think because it was just released last year and it shares a similar release date to interstellar (as well as a space theme). In any case Inception grossed more than gravity anyway so if IS isn't going to beat Gravity, it won't beat inception either.
The Dark Alfred
Gravity was helpe3d by its OScar buzz a lot. Plus it was branded as a British film and the BAFTa publicity kept it in the theatres. If Interstellar would get that buzz it could reach those numbers, but without award recognition it's destined for 18-20. Still pretty damn good. I was just thinking about opening weekends; so far it's good, virtually matching Inception. I don't see a reason to be disappointed compared to other Nolan films, at this point in time. If the gap between the films grows bigger then sure, but right now I think it's done pretty well.
Rthmessiah
How's Liverpool One doing Rth? Shouldn't be far off Manchester even with digital IMAX? OM20 is 55% higher than L1(ranked #13)
Heretic
Interstellar looks really busy tonight for Orange Wednesday.
Heretic
Almost £1m Wednesday, £7.8m total. Adding on Thursday, reckon it should be near £8.5m going into weekend. Should be at £11.5m+ by Sunday, so over $18m.

Heretic
Pound has plummeted against the dollar this week. Bad news for upcoming films if this trend continues.
Heretic
Interstellar is busy as hell tonight. If I had to take a guess, I'd say it's not that much down on last Saturday. Imitation Game looks like it's doing really well, too. Seen lots of sell outs. £10m+ total shouldn't be that difficult imo. The Dark Alfred
Interstellar was as busy as last weekend. Granted it lost two screens, but IMAX sold out pretty much every show. Expecting a really good weekend drop.

Heretic
Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell · 5h5 hours ago The Imitation Game has cracked the UK box office. Set for an estimated £2.5m bow, having taken £1.8m in first two days. Excellent opening. This will be very leggy, too.
Jonwo
I'm pleasantly surprised how well The Imitation Game did, Interstellar had a great drop. Wonder how Mr Turner fared as it expanded and I would think the Imitation Game would eat into its audience. Will be interesting how Mockingjay part 1 does, I expect it'll be on par with Catching Fire, maybe slightly higher.
