Weekend Estimates - THE HUNGER GAMES | 155M

Recommended Posts

Just scrolled the Hollywood Arclight which allows you to pick your seat so you can see the sold tickets. They have 23 screenings today. As of 10am:4 between 10:15 and 12:30: Currently about 40% full.5 between 1 and 3:45: 70%8 between 4:45 and 8:40: 80%6 after 9: 10%Obviously these are presales and there will be walkups. Pretty amazing given the number of screens.

Virtually all shows before 8:45 sellouts (at about 90% capacity online.) After 9 still a little soft with only one show above 40%.

Shows are going Sold Out from Walk-Ups. Evening shows are going about 75% right now, but Late Nights are weak about 25% right now at my theatre.

Another theatre from downtown:

11:40 AM - SOLD OUT | 1:30 PM - SOLD OUT | 2:50 PM - SOLD OUT | 3:15 PM | 4:45 PM | 6:00 PM | 6:30 PM | 8:00 PM - SOLD OUT | 9:15 PM | 9:45 PM

12:15 PM | 12:45 PM | 3:30 PM | 4:00 PM | 6:50 PM | 7:15 PM |10:05 PM | 10:30 PM

(12:15, and 12:45 shows went 95% or so I'm told, and the rest of the shows up until the late nights are all expected to be Sold Out by the time they start, if not an hour or two before)

Sunday business is huge and night time till 8pm is quite solid.I think the Sundat estimate will hold but 40 million Sunday looks difficult. However the only films in my area to sellout on Sundays are kid films sometimes but only Spiderman 3 and TDK.

I'm currently leaning towards the opinion that this is this decades Spider-Man. Similar time-frame as well. Similar opening in terms of attendance. Probably slightly weaker legs.

The audience breakdown for Hunger Games is 61% female/39% male and 56% over 25/44% under 25.

My jaw just completely dropped. For all the talk of Tweens and teens for this to actually skew older is incredible.

becasue the books are intelligent. Tweens and teens don`t have well developed taste which is why they used to have Borelando posters on the wall and now are ashamed and use them as toilet paper rolls. Edited by fishnets

HG ain`t fudging anything especially not Spidey. if they went after anything, that would be Twilight but $155 mio is too big a number to be fudged just to pass NM.

They could fudge it past TDK. TF2 was fudged over 200M
