i don't get you, guys, that's exactly how anime looks (from Japan).... *shrugs*

And people are pinting out:
A. In the  West, Anime is a niche audience and

B. Anime style might not fit Tolkein's universe very well.

I think we need to seperate LOTR fans..fans ot the Jackson movies..from Tolkien fans..fans of the actual books. I can guarantee that lot of Tolkien fans will not show up for this.

A lot of them..and I include myself among them...just have a real problem in spinoffs based very loosley on a couple of sentences in Tolkien books. You do not treat a major work of literature like a comic book franchise.

was interested in checking out the "The Great Tales of Middle-earth" "trilogy"

if you've read them, are they deserving of the "great" moniker?

I don't do fan fic, period.

Particular for the works of Tolkien.

Tolkien was a great writer. The people who do fan fic ,95% of the time..and I might be generous there...are not.

I suspect this Tales of Middle earth is laregly hack fantasy set in Middle Earth. Not interested. My time is limited, I will spend it on the good stuff.

I haven't read this more finished/edited version of several of Tolkien's Unfinished Tales but I did read the original versions and they are indeed great.  If you haven't read it I also can not highly recommend The Simillarion enough.

Wow, that's the most anime looking anime art style of all time. Some people will be turned off by that.

Count me as one of those. I don't hate anime, but is wrong for Tolkien.

Good rather then great.

They are pretty much the first drafts of material which was included in the Silmarallion. Tolkien has a habit of doing first drafts of stories but then going on to somethng else. but never getting around to giving them a final rewrite. Hell, when he died the Siomarallion was not anywhere near pubishable; Christopher Tolkien had to basically pull the Silmarallion together as editor.

The above three never got the final polish by Tolkine, and it shows. Well worth readin but don't expect the polish you have with LOTR or even the Silmrallion.

And a lot of the other Posthumous Tolkine books amount to the first drafts of LOTR. Interesing in how they drastically differ from LOTR but don;t expect an actual story.

I wish this was true but it looks more like netflix castlevania ngl. Nausica as a template kind of feels perfect for a non-Jackson LOTR venture though

If you're gonna show the trailer today, why not just show it right now? Weirdos.

Honestly this looks like something they could’ve just put on TV.

Yeah, the more we see the more it becomes clear this is transparently a rights retention play and Embracer may have had valid grounds for deeming this didn't satisfy contractual mandates to keep pumping out new films.
