Surprised by how light it looks. Trailer is most likely edited for maximum commercial appeal, but even with that in my mind it still looks like his most mainstream friendly movie yet. idk if that or Zendaya will move the needle but I'm very excited

This does look a fun "pretty people doing sexy stuff" romp. The positive response on social media could indicate a mini-breakout if everything falls into place.

Before the trailer was even released Zendaya has been mentioned as a potential best actress nominee for the Academy Awards… do you all think the trailer will help with that campaign?

I think she could get like GG nom but I’m doubtful about Oscars. Luca doesn’t make movies for Oscars.

Well, she does come across as an ego maniac, but for some reason she was pushed by media and her fans as a super down to earth "just like us" person at the time which to me was crazy, she's as down to earth as The Rock. Never understood Anne Hathway hate, maybe I never followed whatever drama she was in.

Trailer doesn't matter. It's made for audience not voters. Voters get screeners and cast and crew do junkets and other schmooze events to rally support. 

 

That said, it won't hurt if the movie is a hit so commercally cut trailer helps draw the audience and as a result awards campaign doesn't have to fend off bomb stigma.

If this opens better than the new JLaw comedy, then Zendaya has arrived. I've only seen her small part in Dune 1, curios to see more.

 

Now, the trailer doesn't look like a movie that does over 10M OW imo, but i've read Zendaya has a big fanbase. Let's see if it translates into movie tickets

It'd probably be a good idea to delay this since this is the sort of the film that is going to generate buzz from cast interviews. I'm really looking forward to this but I also want it to do well.
