IndustriousAngel
Brave ("Merida") is in serious danger of missing 1 million admissions - that's worse than bad for a Pixar film. IA4 in week 6 hat nearly as many admissions as Brave in week 2 and will reach 6 million plus some.Ted: Amazing. Amazing. My theory is that the weekend was in fact deflated due to the olympics (steep drops for nearly everything, even Intouchables went down 35%). That makes Ted's hold even more impressive.edit: Fun fact: Ted's 2nd weekend has about the same PTA as TDKR 1st. A-may-zing! pinocchio
Doesn't Brave more and more look like a complete disappointment overseas?
IndustriousAngel
Brave is a complete disappointment - it will propably make only half the dollars Cars2 made.

With 3 raunchy comedies (I suppose Ted will stay at nr. 1) plus Magic Mike + Prometheus + TDKR competing for an evening audience screens will again be at a premium and it will be interesting how this weekend turns out - but you have to question the distributor's scheduling abilities ... Olive
It will be very hot over the weekend, 35-40 degrees likely. Heretic
There's a heatwave all over Europe this weekend.Even in the UK it's meant to get above 32 degrees. Expect huge falls in most countries.
IndustriousAngel
Yep, and it's completely unsure how that will affect BO. Usually, good weather equals bad BO, but it might get so hot people flee the outdoors and take shelter in air-conditioned theaters So, take this trend for what it's worth, I would peg Ted a tad higher. What's interesting is the screen allocation at my theater this evening: Ted gets the biggest screen (4 shows); Prometheus the next biggest (4 shows), followed by "What To Expect" (5 shows), German comedy "Wer's glaubt" (4 shows), and Red Lights! (4 shows) which is a real surprise (the number of shows I mean; presales look poor as expected). TDKR is down to 1 show as are 5YE and RumDiary. Canadian comedy "Starbuck" only gets 2 shows on small screens for its opening; presales are virtually non-existent and I will be surprised if it makes the Top10. As mentioned, screens are really at a premium with the number of adult films competing for an audience. No Brave or IA4 after 4pm!
