Not a bad weekend, even if it can't compare to last year's. Halloween far better than I expected! A lot of domestic productions in the chart, too - nice. Despite other family film's increases, The Incredibles 2 went down again … bumpy run!

Next weekend: Two openers with ambitions for the top spot - Bohemian Rhapsody comes with some buzz, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms with less but it's still Disney. And Halloween might show a surprising hold, some other of this year's horror releases have done so already. With weather on the rainier side and cool, family stuff should also have good holds - hopefully a strong overall weekend with a wide variety of attractive releases!

Because the Thursday estimates were not far off in the last weeks and they look really good today I report them (school holidays in two big states and today is also a legal holiday in several states which helped):

The new releases:

Bohemian Rhapsody: 122k (!) - even if this number goes down in actuals, that's a great start
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms: evening only 24k - e.g. at mathäser it got the smallest cinema hall in the evening and middle big ones over the day so that should also become a very nice number, the noon-reports were nice too
25km/h : 35.5k

The holdovers:

Halloween: 76k (actuals last Thursday 50k) – very good if it holds
Johnny English 3: 45.5k (20k) - really?
ASIB: 27k
Der Vorname: 25.5k (20k)

well, since Friday is a holiday for many people, numbers are not really comparable to last week's, but those are some sweet holds anyway. And the number for Bohemian Rhapsody is great!!! As expected, a lot of attractive releases plus cool weather gives us a satisfying weekend!

interesting, here today was a holiday in some states (in others yesterday), tomorrow is a workday.

But we have here in my state also a week of autumn school holidays (4 states in complete a whole week, 1 has a Thursday to Sunday 1/2 week holiday)

Strong openers and good holds and a lot of domestic releases and seven movies with more than 100k admissions - finally a weekend that can be called a good one without any reservations! Of course the near-holiday-situation helped a lot but still …

Next weekend: First Man and A Simple Favor (both possibly in the Top3) and some smaller releases like Overlord or Rememory or Rampant … but frankly, anything other than Bohemian Rhapsody on top again would be a big surprise!

Probably not. I2 has mediocre holds while HT3 still has some admissions left - it'll get to 2,55M-2,6M, while I2 may reach around 2,3M...

Austria's October numbers are complete and while not the lowest in recent history, it's been pretty bad once more. Among the last 10 years, there were 7 better Octobers ... not a surprise, of course, and we're more than 10% down from last year 😟; very similar to the German market. At least Bohemian Rhapsody did ok, nearly 50k admissions in only 3 days, so let's hope for a better November.
