BO Germany/Austria: Dune first 2024 blockbuster (3mil admissions)

Recommended Posts

Paulette is hilarious, saw it last week, but the audience seems to be very limited (we were the youngest in the audience and I'm 45  ) . highly recommended!

(As I read the first synopsis; I thought it was just a french remake of "Saving Grace" but it's really different, even if some themes are the same)

aw huge thanks

it seems to be showing only in 1 theater (same as Before Midnight)

Not too good for TITE. Don't know if it's true for the general audience but that one went totally below my radar, marketing was virtually non-existent.

Otherwise, great drops or even increases as expected, rain struck as predicted and it's looking like a "good" or at least normal weekend after at least four terrible ones. TLR is opening a bit better than I expected, could be #1 or the weekend.

nothing thats to relevant to BO

seems like Paulette is out of theaters :(

Maybe in Russia, at my theater they moved it from the smallest screen to the 3rd biggest (which is usually given to 3D films). Ok, it's only 2 shows a day, but they are selling ok, better than Wolverine anyway. Paulette should stay in the Top 10 :)

btw, final weekend trend for Germany:

Smurfs2 and TLR each with about 300k admissions - not sure which one will win, neither in admissions nor in US$ - Smurfs2 has 3D but cheaper family tickets, so it might be very close. #3: DM2 with about 175k - so, Smurfs2 a little lower, DM2 a little higher than last week!

A good week for family films and comedies.

The coming weekend is very crowded - PJ2, Elysium, Kick-Ass 2 and german comedy Großstadtklein - will be interesting to see what movies get hurt most by openers. At least totals should be up a lot!
