Even better for CI! Still good holds for the rest

Both CI and CJ2 seem do be doing very good. WB has a solid weekend in Germany.

The first Conjuring made 453.648 admissions after a 130.704 Opening Week (OWeekend 86.222). So in its Opening weekend Conjuring 2 will surpass that.

Obviously Conjuring had a great multipler of about 5. While Conjuring 2 won't beat that, I think it will make at least 550k. And who knows, maybe more possible if it's really that good?

So, with Monday numbers things are looking even better for the Top Movies!

Central Intelligence with 230k, Conjuring seems to crack 200k.

Warcraft with 85k falls a bit more than 30%.

For the rest no numbers or no change.

Actually an ok weekend, considering the Euro. C2 did a little better than I expected, CI a LOT better! And look at that "hold" from Zootopia!

Next weekend: No very big releases as distributors still fear football; "The Neon Demon" probably the most interesting one but NWR is a difficult sell.

I just looked up some numbers on insidekino, and the Independence Day numbers are crazy, over 9mio admissions for this movie, I didn't remember that movie being so popular. What are the expectations for the sequel?

Germany was the second biggest market for that movie OS with more than $70M - I think that's huge for that time. It made 2.543.713 in its Opening Week. And for now I think - while I hope that I'm wrong - that it won't make more than that. 2M admssions I would call a success. But if things are good, maybe JW numbers are in play :)

Maybe there is potential - but we thought that for TJB, too. So my hopes aren't too high for that one.

They have those in Germany? Like Drive-ins?

It's can't be double features, because Finding Dory isn't out yet in Germany.

I've never heard of Drive-ins in Germany yet. It's just that you sit outside while watching a movie :)

But I have no idea if its such outside showings whick explain that increase

I also haven't heard of drive-ins in Germany. What I meant was something like this: schanzenkino-bild-0%29.jpg

No, ist's NOT open air screenings (most of these start a little later, June is bad because of the long evenings ...) - I rather suspect a lot of school screenings.

Me Before You has a very good start, that's nice counterprogramming but still a surprise.

School screenings?

Anyways, do you have anything to say about the Brexit? It messed up the Euro as well.

Well, from a personal POV I like the "Brexit" - it means the £ will drop against the €, so travelling there will become cheaper for us. For international BO, it means of course totals in US$ will drop with equal admissions. (I'm a fan of admissions anyway)

Euro may drop too. It's not like the euro hasn't got its own problems, which will be accentuated.

1st Trend

MBY could have about 375k admissions

C2 and CI will fight for second with 75k each (Would be hard drops if that hold, -62% and -66%)

Anything can happen though

Really good opening there ... the other openers (Bastille Day, Neon Demon) are underperformers, but Me Before You saves the weekend!

The book is selling like hotcakes on Amazon.de so it's no surprise at all. It's sequel is also doing well!

:)
