What? Wetteronline says weather on Thursday will be rainy, but really good on Saturday and Sunday like everywhere else.

My weather forecast said rainy till Friday and that Saturday will have atleast a small chance of beeing rainy as well with Sunday promised to be sunny. Altough sometimes these forecasts change several times a day so maybe tomorrow it will look the same as yours.

Yeah, that's basically a given. It won't have the opening of Rogue One, nor holidays to boost its legs. Add the possibility of good weather and things look even worse.

 

Doesn't seem really surprising to me though. Apart from the issues mentioned above, this movie also comes out pretty quickly after the last one, and it isn't really something that people just have to see.

 

Not sure what's really worse though, that a Star Wars movie will (very likely) lose out to a comic book movie, or that the most hyped MCU-movie ever will still not be that far ahead of a a Star Wars spin-off that is basically an afterthought...

A rather boring weekend - everything performed according to expectations minus 10%. Deadpool 2 opened lower than the first one; still very successful for a SH movie.

Next weekend: With Solo there's the next big opener in line. Weather should be a big factor but it should open at least as high as Deadpool2, hopefully a bit higher (1mil seem impossible though).

It already did, Monday was a national Holiday (Pentecost) and Tuesday was a bridge day for most schools.

You think Solo opens higher than Deadpool 2, I am honestly no longer sure that is going to happen.

The showings at the local cinemas look awful, basically nothing for shows that already started. I start to fear this film might open to just 500k (~5.5M € ~$6.5M) (Yep that is worse than the OD of TFA).

At my cinema, it looks absolutely horrendous. Ganz, ganz mies.

 

Though i should note that Deadpool 2 (strangely) didnt look very good either last week and that had a very solid opening. So maybe people are just not going to the cinema in my area...

and I noticed something really interesting at the local cinema:

Presales for

25th: 393

26th: 401 

27th: 482 (Probably the Carrie Fisher effect)

I didn't thought the 27th might be that strong.

That were presales for TLJ...

Though at the cinema the 27th was really really strong (the 20:15 show sold ~500 ticket (600 seats)

Solo has 107 tickets sold for tomorrow it's opening Day

But honestly I haven't bought a ticket either, because I am not interested in the slightest (might still see it) and okay I normally don't go on OW (TLJ was the only film I ever did, wait I Zootopia and Inside Out I went on OW too) for SW it needs to be between the years.

And I doubt Solo will still be in theaters then.

Thursday next week is Fronleichnam in Bayern, Baden-Württemberg, Hessen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Saarland, and Rheinland-Pfalz = public holiday in states with a high population count, and as it is a Thursday often a lot of ppl take Friday as a bridgeday holiday

 

This week school holidays in Nordrhein-Westfalen, not helping legd, but maybe a bit helping for the OW

This week and next week in Bayern, and Baden-Württemberg.

Nothing helping for the 3 weeks after those, but maaayyybe a small very late boost starting 25./28. June, when in some of the not named states the summer school holiday will start

 

But yes, the weather might be way too good for even a middleground (in general) BO weekend

yep, doesn't look too good at my theater either; the best selling show is the OV (undubbed); probably students - other shows max 40% even in the evening, afternoon zilch. Crazy for this franchise ...

I always use wetter.de which often shows much nicer weather than wetter.com (and the truth is mostly in the middle). There the weekend is predicted to be sunny everywhere in Germany.

Solo starts in 730 theaters and the reviews are good, but not overwhelming (on par with the US reviews).
In one region, Rhein and Ruhr, Solo was significantly leading (250%) this afternoon in comparison with DP 2 last Thursday, but in this state are school holidays.
In mathäser the previews yesterday and the shows today didn't/don't look bad, ca. as good as the reservations for DP 2 last week but also with holidays here in Bavaria. But maybe more people are actually come watching as it was the case with DP 2 last Thursday.
By the way, several members reported not too good weather in their regions today and here in Bavaria it rained till now but at the moment it's getting ligher. Still, the weather today shouldn't be a problem.

Mark_G sees 550k/2.2M admissions OW for Solo, the Drebins (also admins or something like that) see 725k/2.8M total.

 

The Rhein and Ruhr report showed Solo slightly in front of DP 2s last Thursday (around 10% better). DP 2 had an ok hold with a drop under 50% today and Avengers: IW stayed flat compared to last Thursday.

The estimates of the whole country saw DP 2 now on its second weekend in front of Solo (93.5k to 88.5k) but last week these estimates were much too high for DP 2. Still, that Solo number isn't something to be glad about.

And the South-West report which was pretty reliable last Thursday counted today for Solo 1.753 admissions in the selected theaters and for DP 2 1.542 admissions (last Thursday 3.183 which was on par with the first Deadpool movie).

So overall Solo and DP 2 in its second week seem to do pretty similar today. And that means that Solo struggles and will stay far under Rogue One. 
Mark_G sees a drop of 60% (the Drebins ca. 50%) for A: IW but it looked quite good for that movie in the reports today. How it does on the sunny weekend is another question but today it held quite well especially with Solo released.

RO had 220k OD, ~90k for Solo would mean about 60% drop... Maybe actuals will be better (...) or it'll get to just 400k-500k OW and 2M would be in danger...

$6,5M OW and $25M cume seem optimistic
