Weekly figures. SpiderMan HC OD Thu = $1.4M, aiming for 200M lc / $11M weekend.

DM3 is now in the all-time Top 60 (lc):

51  337,010,907  Frozen (2013)
52  335,589,063  Captain America 2 (2014)

53  334,310,000  Despicable Me 3 (2017)
54  332,390,000  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (2015)
55  327,417,004  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013)

Seems that Gru will struggle to overpass $677M of FOTF. Good news is that has no animated competition until Emoji.

SM:HC was way less front-loaded that i thought, can even go for $250.

A local source just told me that the OD of Spiderman: Homecoming was higher that the one published by CANACINE. According to ComScore the real number is $44.4M lc ($2.42M USD). Now is heading for a $270-$300M lc 4-Day OW.

EDIT: Deadline just confirmed what i was told

Wait why would they have thought that high  the 1st 4 days be more like lc200 maybe bit higher

Something doesn't add up here. Either CANACINE is right with their Thu 23M lc figure = 200M lc 4-day OW; or Deadline/Comscore  calculated the Thu OD differently. That, or the movie was very front-loaded, or DM3 were more resilient than we thought.

Only hours to find out!

I said that was way less front-loaded that i thought because those $44M are more like an animated film levels that TFA, AOU, F7 levels, which open $80-$100 on THU and are extremely front-loaded. Also, $250M 4-Day OW is reasonable because THU is not really a day of much assistance, SUN and SAT can even double THU numbers.

WOW! Homecoming is heavily front-loaded  Is $148M MXN by SAT, actuals may come lower than expected. #17 among 3-Day OW and #8 for 4-Day. and around 4.5-4.7 M assistants.

Must have had a very strong Sunday to make $12M. Other totals: WW  $22.3M, Cars 3 $14.9M (biggest intl market so far).

CANACINE corrected their Thu numbers :PHomecoming is the highest opening for a Spiderman movie, also achieved the 4th highest OW (3-day and 4-day) of the year.  Also #5 highest superhero 4-day OW!

DM3 flies to the Top 30 all-time in lc, breaking the 9-million admission barrier in just 2 weeks.

The rest of the movies got annihilated, Peter and Gru held a 92% weekend share between them!

If Homecoming follows the way of GOTG and Logan will finish with $490M-$510M lc. On the other hand, if it performs more in a Wonder Woman way will end with $560M-$575M. No competition until July 20th with TF5 and July 27th (WFPOTA, Dunkirk), so most probable scenario is a 2.4-2.5 multiplier that will give it $515-$530. In USD and assistants will stay behind SM3.

DM3 will enjoy that this friday some schools start their summer break, weekdays will be strong and with any family-friendly film for the next weeks definitely can top $620M.

Cars 3 crashed, will stay under Cars 2 for $15-$10M

Next sunday, TF5 will have a special pre-release for 3D showtimes, a $15-$20M range is possible.

Mojo now has charts all the way back to 2001!!! There's a gap between 2004 and 2005.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/mexico/

Some interesting totals in USD:

  • Spider-Man  $31,196,574 (#1 movie in 2002, looks like it broke records at the time)
  • Ice Age   $20,585,860
  • Finding Nemo $17,841,841 (#1 movie in 2003)
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets   $16,954,909

And talk about consistency:

  • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring   $15,553,497
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers  $15,998,901
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King  $15,626,424

Thanks to @Mockingjay Raphael for the tip!

DM3 passed Finding Dory in lc and should leap over Inside Out and Monsters University by the weekend to become the #5 highest animated movie.

SMH still on track to 500M lc but it'll be closer than anticipated.
